PELI Tools

The Preferences for Everyday Living Inventory (PELI) is a scientifically validated tool to assess individual preferences for social contact, personal development, leisure activities, living environment and daily routine. For nursing homes, the PELI is available in Full length and Mid-Level versions. Both questionnaires are designed to spark conversations about individual preferences, lay the foundation for building trusting relationships, and promote care plans and service delivery that honor client preferences.

How-to tip sheets guide providers on using the PELI to learn about and honor client preferences for daily life and activities. Tip sheets cover a wide range of practical topics and evolve based on providers’ experiences in the field and findings from emerging research. PELI tools, tip sheets, and a sample nursing home policy on PELI use are available for download free of charge. See Terms of Use agreement for details.
